New imac coming

It looks like we will be sending our current computer, emac, back to Apple Canada. In return they are sending us a brand new imac. It should take just over a week to receive it via UPS....what can brown do for you? We are super excited about the new computer and the way Apple is helping us out and taking care of us. For those of you who haven't made the switch to mac's...do it! Don't let our emac problem frighten you. Apparently they aren't making emac's anymore. Maybe because they weren't built right or something. Even though this emac is currently acting like a windows based computer, we will never go back to Microsoft. So the blog and website probably won't be updated until we get the new compy. Until then....

Shower of Blessings

On Thursdy evening the boys and I were on our way out to have dinner at....McDonald's.
Sam has been bagging me for a few weeks now to go there. On our way there I looked at the clock and realized it was already past seven o'clock and that it was caregroup night. We continued on and decided to skip caregroup that night. Then once we got home there was a voicemail message asking why we weren't at caregroup. Then moments later the phone rang. Our friend Elden (caregroup leader) was seeing if we were still going to show-up. Now by this time it was 8ish. He told Justin why he kept phoning. They had planned a surprise baby shower and had cake and balloons and gifts waiting for us. So Justin hung up and talked to me and we decided to go. It was really awesome that they had taken the time to think of us and to be so generous. Mattias received lots of new clothes, toys, soaps, shoes, blanket, and sippy cup. And Sam received lots of gifts as well. He got a Dr's kit, Thomas book, and a tractor toy. We let Sam open the gifts and give them to Mattias. He was so excited to do it and Sam was like, "See 'ttias...for you!" It was really awesome to see him being so caring and sharing.

Saturday was a shopping day spent at toys r us, Old Navy, Best Buy, and then ended at IKEA where we had dinner and bought some goodies.
Mother's day was relaxing. Justin let me sleep in by feeding Mattias and Sam. Then I awoke, showered and got ready for church. We left church a few minutes early because Justin had made reservations at Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Edmonton. From there we came home and relaxed and I had a nap. We watched Carolina Hurricanes (Cam Ward) finish off the New Jersey Devils and went for dessert at DQ. It was an enjoyable day indeed!

Sunny Days

The last of the sniffles are leaving and schedules are getting back to normal...sort of! Yesterday we enjoyed the sun rays at the park near our home. Mattias slept, sam played in the sand and my mom and I chatted. The warm Spring sun was so warm and comforting.
Sam has once again has shown interest in learning how to use the toilet. A few weeks before Mattias was born, all potty training interest came to a hault. And with some serious resistance, he was going no where near the toilet. But the past week he has once again started telling us when he needs to go and what he needs to do there. I am just letting him do it on his own time without pressuring him. When he's ready, it should work much better then forcing him. I was saying I should potty train Mattias while we are at it and then think of all the money we'll save not having to buy any diapers. Or I could just let Mattias be a baby and tackle that task when the time comes. I am looking forward to the weekend ahead. I am not sure of the weather but just spending time with Justin and the boys and going on some much needed outings will be nice. Grocery shopping and clothes for the boys are on the list of shopping for this weekend. To those of you who live near children consignment, be thankful. Edmontonian's aren't too familiar with that sort of thing. So selection is far and few between and way too expensive for used clothing. Leading most of us to just buy it brand new. The shopping should be fun!

Sickies!

Last weekend Sam brought a cold home from church. Then in his good nature, shared it with the rest of his family. Mattias got his first sniffles at three weeks old. Justy and I each got the sniffles and sore throats. But other then that, the colds weren't too bad. One night Sam awoke because he was unable to breath so Justin went into his room to deal with him while at the same time, Mattias awoke because of the same reason so I went and comforted him. With two children and two parents it works quite well.
My mom flew here on Sunday for a nice short visit with her grandsons. She departs on Wednesday evening. Sam loves having someone here to play trains, blocks, hockey, soccer and whatever he requests all day, everyday. It's nice for my requests too!
Tonight is a hockey night in our home. Oilers, Ottawa, and Carolina are all playing tonight. So you can guess what Justin is up to. Sam asks for hockey on the nights that it's actually not on the tv. He loves to play it and quite likes watching it as well. Him and Justin are alot alike at times. Well dishes call and.......

The new normal!

Well, life with two beautiful blessed boys is going really good. If I would allow it Sam would hold Mattias all day everyday. He is very helpful. He wants to help with everything. He likes to burp Mattias and helps get me whatever I need for Mattias when my hands are too full. The best thing has been that I have put Mattias on a feeding schedule of every three hours during the day and as of late, in the evenings he has been eating every two hours. Then he is in bed by about 11pm and sleeps til around 8am. Sam has started sleeping through the night finally. So even though there is a newborn in the home, we are sleeping better then when Mattias wasn't here. The last three weeks have flown by so fast. I can't believe in some ways Mattias is already 22 days old and in other ways it seems like he has always been here. Sometimes I just take a moment to think in the moment. What is going on in my life; what my life has become is what I dreamed of when I was a little girl.
"Justin and Jen sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage!"
My husband has become more of the man of dreams then the day I married him. My first born son Samuel is so tender, kind, loving and thoughtful. And my newest son Mattias is calm, relaxed, and curious. I live in a home where one day I will be surrounded by Godly men and leaders for His kingdom....what a joy and what an incredible responsibility I have as there mother and Justin and I have as their parents.
"Thank-you Lord for trusting us with that task with your children you have given to us." Amen
