A Thanksgiving To Remember
We spent a wonderful time up at Gardom Lake Bible Camp!
We were able to: hike, have campfire and roast things over the fire, roast turkey, eat big Thanksgiving meal, ride bikes (children mostly), kayak, fish (Jeremy), enjoy each others company, play with the dogs, spend time with the newest family member, enjoy the outdoors, etc.
The only downfall that happened was that Sam spilled boiling hot soup on his stomach and got 2nd degree burns, I rushed him into the shower first, than to the Salmon Arm hospital, he is healing well though.

The Next Day
So its feeling a bit better today, actually the gash itself hurts a bit more than yesterday, and my bones don't hurt as much. It appears I might have hit my other leg or pulled a muscle, because it has been hurting a bit.

Harvest Crusade & Jeremy Camp
While browsing jeremycamp.com I found this video:
In Stitches
This morning we had a great time with friends at City Park, taking photos and enjoying the heat, sunshine, lake, beach, etc. Near the very end we were by the new monuments that have been setup celebrating the old bridge, they are made of steel, and I went to jump up on one of them, I made it, but my shoe was wet so I slid and my left leg caught the corner or a bolt, I'm not sure, I am thinking of heading back to do so CSI work to figure that out. It hurt alot, so when I finally sat down and pulled my pant leg up to see what it looked like, I was surprised to see my leg covered in blood.
It hurt alot! Right down to the bone. The Dr. and the Dr.'s assistant said that it was a "hole" and a "gash". So the Dr. put in two stitches.

Canucks Training Camp
Today was the last day of Canucks training camp in Penticton. So I took my Dad and Sam. We had a good time watching them do some warmups and then they played a game.
We were a bit surprised with the bodychecks being placed on fellow teammates! But I guess they are trying to get on the roster and in a top line.
Speaking of top lines, we did not get to see:
- Roberto Luongo
- Daniel & Henrik Sedin
- Alex Burrows
- Ryan Kessler
- Alexander Edler
- Kevin Bieksa
- Manny Malholtra
And possibly others...
They actually were in the rink behind where we were sitting practicing.
It was closed door though and we could only view through the windows overlooking the ice surface.

One Day at Gardom Lake
With a week filled with trouble (Saffron's breakdown and problem with people on the swings - affecting her into hysteria & hospital & Dr.), Jen thought it would be a good idea to get away for at least a night at Gardom Lake Bible Camp. Well it was quite good, but still...
The first night we didn't get there until later (closer to 9pm), than because of the excitement the kids were fooling around (I was tired and ready for sleep).
I didn't sleep too well (not used to the thin mattress as well as some not so pleasant dreams), than Sam woke up and he was making some noise with his legs trying to wake up the other two, I told him not to wake them up and I went to the bathroom. Jen said that Sam climbed up and down the ladder about 6 times and banged his legs to wake up the other two! So they were tired.
We had a good breakfast outside.
Then we went for a walk to the beach and hopped into the canoe for a ride.
When we got back we went for a hike, had a fire and attempted to have a nap.

Steamy Sunrise
This was the reward for not sleeping the whole night because I was freezing! We were so cold (sleeping in the back of the van), that at 5:30 we turned on the van and warmed up. Then went out with Karl and enjoyed the sunrise and a 2 hour walk/hike.
Sam Jumping Over Creek
Its time to catch up on the summer...give you some video & photos of what we did over the summer.
I was surprised that Sam could jump this far, he had already made it (I think twice), so when I finally got the camera out...he made it, but...

Where Can I Hide from you!
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
(Psalm 139:7-12, New King James Version)
A song that came into my head is called "Where Can I Hide From You" by Perry & The Poor Boys

2 Inches to the Right
I found this from Shonlock.com who is a member of the Diverse City band (TobyMac) and will actually be touring with TobyMac, so I'm not sure if that means that he is no longer with the band or will be playing with both bands (Shonlocks band is called Monsta). But this is a neat video!

Fire
We had opened the windows and noticed a nice big wind picking up to help cool us down, I went outside and was enjoying the breeze (strong wind) it had been smoggy/smokey all day today so I noticed some blue sky from the wind...then I noticed some really black clouds moving fast. I went upstairs and looked out and saw a glow, sure enough a large fire!

Some of TobyMac's moves.
Made to love - Cell Phone Edition
We gonna party, have a party right here!
Funky Jesus Music!
City on our knees! Absolutely incredible song!
Burn for You - in the crowd.
This is one of many things I enjoy about TobyMac, his crowd interaction!

Sam's Christmas Performance
Originally posted December 18, 2009

You might be able to see Sam in the middle. He looked a little like when the priests where their black shirt with the white stripe in the middle, as he had a dark blue sweater on with a white turtle neck overtop. They were doing as a school, the Christmas Olympics (the theme). Sam’s class represented Australia. Check out the Media link for the video of him and his class singing :)

Reflections on the Lake

Posted Saturday December 26, 2009
Thats cool...I didn’t write “reflections on the lake” it was automatically there from iWeb :) I will leave it as it is perfect. A few days I ago I went up to Wilden to see if the ponds were frozen so that we could play hockey. They were all ready for us, so yesterday Sam & I went up and played hockey for about 3 hours. Lots of fun! We got to play with some very talented guys. The father of two of them said he played in the NHL in the 1970’s and with NY for 11 games (that came out because I was asking where he was from because it sounded like he was from NY).
It was a great time! Sam played goalie! Against all the guys :)

We were able to make it to the TobyMac concert Friday December 11, 2009 :)
We were going to take the Greyhound bus, but missed the low price by one day, so my parents were going to let us use their winterized car to go to the Coast, but the night before we were to leave the suspension went on it. So, my mom took the car in first thing in the morning and we waited patiently...we were finally on the road by 3:00pm with the concert starting at 7:30pm. We made it to the stadium at 5:34pm. I’m not sure how we made such good time? I wonder if God was pushing our vehicle for us?
The roads were clear for us to make the concert, on the way back, it was a different story.
Check out the Media page for all the photos and video.
I wanted to enjoy the concert, but at the same time record some of the new stuff that we don’t have recorded, or if it was remixed, etc. So the video’s are more for sound than viewing enjoyment :)

Starfield

Starfield in Kelowna with Article One.
Article One was quite good! The whole band was good, great vocals, drums, guitars and also a violin! That guy was incredible. Lots of energy and talent!
Starfield was great! They not only put on a good show, but good sharing and praying and challenging!
In the above picture you will notice that you can see the crowd, they had cameras on stage facing the musicians, and at the end the lead singer Tim moved the camera so it was facing the crowd, it was quite neat!
